Hello! I want to tell you a little bit (mmm maybe a lot, I can ramble when need be) about this blog. First off, if you aren’t familiar with the nickname Sconnie, it is given to those who are from and/or reside in the state of Wisconsin. Technically, we are called Wisconsinites, but let’s be honest, Sconnie/s sound cooler. All the jokes you hear about that say all we do is drink beer and eat cheese are 100% true. The state basically shuts down for a Packer game. If you want to go out to a bar to watch the game, you better get there a few hours early. The weather is also as crazy as portrayed on the news. No, I never take my snow scraper out of my car; yes, I always have a sweatshirt with me. And lastly, apparently we have funny accents.
Second, I’m a first time mom and you want to know what they tell first time moms? None of the real shit that happens! It’s all sugar coated! Ok, thanks, but no thanks. So, the point of this blog is to tell you all the real shit that happens without the sugar coating.
Third, this is for anyone who wants to read as far as I am concerned, but focused on moms-to-be (just so you know what you’re getting into), fellow pregnant mamas, or moms who want to take a stroll down memory lane.
Fourth, as mentioned, I’m a first time mom so I don’t have other pregnancies to compare it to, I didn’t go to school for women’s health, and I am writing this as I take on the journey so I’m learning something every day. So, take this with a grain a salt, laugh a little, cry a little, believe in yourself a little (on those stressful ‘what the fuck am I doing’ days), and take this motherhood journey one day at a time.
